Route to Garnì Petra, Bed & Breakfast at Passo MendolaFrom the motorway exit Bolzano Sud or Egna-Ora you reach the pass after about 20 minutes' drive. At the lower part you follow the idyllic South Tyrolean Wine Road with the villages Appiano, Caldaro and Tarmeno. This is a modern road and easy to drive on. Due to the 15 hairpin turns this road is very popular amongst motor bikers.
Coming from a Western direction you can reach Passo Mendola via the long Val di Sole Valley, past the Madonna di Campiglio winter destination, via Cles and Fondo. Coming from Merano you reach Passo Mendola via Passo delle Palade on a partly steep, but easily accessible road. The route features a good few turns also from this side, but is still accessible with longer campers.
There is a public bus connection from Cles and also from Bolzano. The bus from Bolzano goes to S. Antonio in the vicinity of Caldaro. Here you have to take the funicular railway, which will bring you up to the pass in about 15 minutes.
